Upper Mustang feels unlike the rest of Nepal: red cliffs, cave dwellings, and a Tibetan-influenced culture in Lo Manthang. It is a restricted region, so permits are a real part of the planning — we handle them in Kathmandu.
Walking is on dry trails rather than forest. The season is narrower, and the permit cost is higher than standard treks, which is reflected in the price.
Itinerary
Day 1–2To Jomsom
Fly or drive via Pokhara, then begin north.
Day 3–8Toward Lo Manthang
Villages, caves, and the walled town.
Day 9–14Return south
Alternate trail out and back to Pokhara or Kathmandu.
