Annapurna

Annapurna Base Camp Trek

A shorter Annapurna classic into the sanctuary, with Poon Hill sunrise on the way.

Annapurna Base Camp is the right trek if you want a high Himalayan amphitheater without a 5,000-meter pass. The trail climbs through Gurung villages into the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Most itineraries include a Poon Hill sunrise before or after the sanctuary. We usually pair this trek with a night in Pokhara and a seat on our Kathmandu–Pokhara bus.

It is shorter and lower, so many first-time trekkers choose it. You still need several hours of walking each day.
